On 8th August 2023, got a call for help from a teacher of Kormuder school as a big flood destroied the bridge connection to town. The village and the school was locked up. There were needs of rice, food, water and medicines.
As the school is seven hours drive from the SCF office and the road connection Chiang mai and Chiang Rai was cut from a big flood, it was impossible for us to travel to the school. However, it was very fortunate that our network kindly contacted a local volunteer group in Maesariang to help us.
A small funding from the SCF team and friends from university was transferred to a local guy who actively coordinate for all the necessities ,transportation and formed a small volunteer group of a few local youths and rangers. The volunteer team could not contact a school teacher and Kormyder leaders as no signal available. Then on 11th August 2023, the volunteer team decided travelled by an ambulance borrowed from a local rescue unit to Kormuder. At the broken bridge, villagers, school kids and teachers helped taking the things to the school by foot and by motobikes
It was impressed to see kind cooperation among local people to help each other. The Kormuder mission was well done with warm firendship, blessing and happiness !
Thank you all the volunteers, donors and coordinators for this mission ! Together we create positive impacts.
